Only A Child by TheRockMonster Only A Child by TheRockMonster
So may the road I've yet to take
Leave a smile across my face
'Till the laughter sheds the darkness far behind
For I still belong in the cradle of humankind

I haven't done pencil works in a very long time. This one has a bit of a personal meaning. So much is put on children nowadays that they aren't allowed to be children. The beauty and wonder of being a child is ignored, leading to tragic and difficult lives in the future.

"Broken skin" looks very realistic, I love the whole idea of this drawing, it's really interesting :)

Interesting job, I like the way you did her right cheek!

There are a few things I'd suggest. First things first, her nose seems a touch big, or too low on her face. I'd try to raise it up a bit and make it curve to the left a bit more.
Also, the chin is much too small compared to the rest of her face. I'd lower it down an inch or so to give the lips more room.
I really like how you did the eyes, but I think raising them both of them up and the left one a bit to the left would really make it look more lifelike.
The shading is fantastic, though I think making the shading darker and the unshaded parts lighter would really make it look more lifelike.

But overall, this is an amazing piece! :D The concept is fascinating, and the different textures, from the hair to the lips to the broken cheek, are all very well done! Keep up the good work!

This is a really good grasp on Realism, though there are some things I'll need to point out.
Her nose looks a bit... odd... I can't tell if it's drawn weird of if she just has a slightly big/out of the ordinary nose, the shape itself is actually really good, but I would have put the nostrils just a bit closer together, mainly the one furthest away from myself closer to the middle.
Also her top lip, the point where it kind of shapes into a 'V' should actually be a bit more pointy and not quite so roundish, it actually makes her lip look odd, though if she's meant to have them like that, then by all means leave it how it is haha
Finally the eyes, they're a bit out of form, mainly the lower eyelid is. You could have moved it closer to the top eyelid to show a little less of the eye apple and the eyelashes on the top eye aren't quite correct either. They get thicker towards the outside of the eye and not the middle and a human eye actually has less eyelashes than one thinks. -personally I like drawing a lot of eye lashes too, but I thought I'd point that out-
Otherwise great work, i really love the concept for this picture, it's creative and original.
